I have a friend who is petrified of needles. The thought of going for a blood test immediately fills him with fear. His pulse races, he breaks out in a sweat and he instantly feels sick. He finds a thousand reasons not to have a blood test. “Ew, ew, ew, no thank you!” With this kind of thinking, it is unlikely he will change his behaviour and have a blood test. Emotional baggage is heavy – How much are you carrying around? It’s the end of the year, and what better time to clear out the old to make room for the new. One of the heaviest bags we carry around is our emotional baggage, our past frustrations, resentments, guilt, anger or regrets. They are heavy, weigh us down, prevent us from moving forward and damage our health and happiness.
